REDDICK, David (???-1805) Pennsylvania surveyor, lawyer, and politician, involved in the Whiskey Rebellion-not on the side of the rebels but, rather, "in defense of law, order, and the constitution." With William Findley, he presented the document representing the rebels' surrender to President Washington and Alexander Hamilton in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in October 1794. Autograph Letter Signed, 1p. 8vo., Lancaster, May 2, 1788 to Pennsylvania jurist Jasper Yeates (1745-1817). Redick discusses an action taken against one James Hay who is indebted to Redick for about twenty pounds. He hopes that Yeates has recovered the sum, and asks that after his fees are deducted the balance be sent to him in Philadelphia. Fine.
