CDV, “The Three Sisters” 1862, by Brady. The horizontal vignetted image of three young girls shows Jennie Jerome, later the father of Winston Churchil. Some pencil notation identifying Jennie ofn the reverse. The Jerome Sisters : Jennie (1854-1921), Clara (1851-1935) and Leonie (1859-1943). These three wealthy young Americans arrive in England at the end of the 19th century in search of good match in big families. Social ascension, success, disappointments are all experiences that they will go through together. Jennie Spencer-Churchill CI RRC DStJ (née Jerome; 9 January 1854 – 29 June 1921), known as Lady Randolph Churchill, was an American-born British socialite, the wife of Lord Randolph Churchill and the mother of British prime minister Sir Winston Churchill.
