A profile portrait presented on an anonymous CDV lacking a backmark. New York-born Margaret Mitchell (1832 - 1918) made her theater debut while a child. Her popularity soared during the Civil War and she became a favorite of the Union's loftiest personalities, including President Lincoln. Also assumed to be one of JW Booth’s lover.A crisp and very clean CDV. VF.
