A pair of booklets regarding Anti-Slavery. Includes, "An Address Delivered Before The Female Anti-Slavery Society of Philadelphia ..." January 1834, disbound, 28pp, printed by T.K. Collins, Philadelphia. The publication provides overviews of several of the slave states. As example, Louisiana, "A slave is one who is in the power of a Master to whom he belongs. The Master may sell him, dispose of his person, his industry and his labour: he can do nothing, nor acquire anything but what must belong to his Master." It also lists dozens of slave ads. As example "Babet, a negress 30 years old, having lost her fingers and toes ..." ... plus, A booklet, Proceedings of the Anti-Slavery Convention of American Women Held in Philadelphia, May 1838. The proceedings of the Convention are recorded in detail. As example, "Resolved, that we hail with joy the triumphant success of immediate emancipation in the islands of Antgua and Bermuda ..."
