Pamphlet, “Kansas Contested Election. Majority Report,” 32pp House of Representitves. House Committee on Territories on March 11, 1856, focused on the situation in Kansas Territory. It took a pro-slavery stance, arguing that the violence in Kansas was caused by abolitionists and that the pro-slavery forces were acting in self-defense. The report also defended the legitimacy of the pro-slavery territorial government and criticized the actions of the federal government in the territory.
