From November 8, 1862, double page engraved image "Negroes Driven South by Rebel Officers". This practice was to move the slaves further away from the free states. ... plus, January 31, 1863, full page engraving "Contrabands Coming Into Camp in Consequence of the Proclamation". Image shows former slaves sitting in and around a wagon drawn by a mule.
