c. 1768 American Revolutionary War Era, KING'S 8th Regiment of Foot, Pewter Coat Size Button, 23 mm, Partial Shank, British, Fine. 23 mm. Large Size KING'S 8th Regiment Pewter Button has average design detail with a weak "8" having a bend to the outer rim edge, but no chip or major damage present, only a partial shank remains and is otherwise whole and complete. Reeded outer edge Enlisted Man's pattern, similar to Troiani B8.i. illustrated on page 24. During the American Revolutionary War Era (1768-1785), the 8th Foot arrived in Canada in 1768 for its first tour in North America and ended in 1785.
