War-date CDV of General Thomas Lafayette "Tex" Rosser (October 15, 1836 - March 29, 1910) was Confederate major general during the Civil War, later a railroad construction engineer and in 1898 brigadier general in the U. S. Army during the Spanish-American War. A favorite of J. E. B. Stuart, he was noted for his daring cavalry raids, efficiency in handling combat troops, and tactical brilliance, per internet bio.
