Mounted bronze right-facing profile of Major General Joseph Hooker, 9” x 15” x 2-3/4” deep, to larger oval board which is milk painted now attractively cracked. It is stamped below the shoulder “J. Hooker, Maj. Gen.” Like cast in early 1863 after Lincoln appointed Hooker to command of the Army of the Potomac on January 26, 1863.
