WILLIAM F. "BUFFALO BILL" CODY (1846-1917). American Soldier, Bison Hunter and Showman, one of the most colorful figures of the American Old West, famous for his Cowboy theme shows, Buffalo Bill received the Medal of Honor in 1872. June 22, 1888-Dated, Autograph Letter Dual-Signed, "W.F. Cody / Buffalo Bill", 2 pages, 1 sheet front and back, measuring 5.75" x 9", North Platte, Nebraska, Choice Very Fine. Written on his decorative ornate "W.F. Cody" personal stationery. This Letter reads, in full: "To The Public in General --- Prof. J.M. DeMoss and his Family consisting of Seven Talented Musicians gave a Band Concert at my house on the eve. of June 21st and I can say that I never listened to a more harmonious and talented family of Musicians, especially his daughter Minnie, who I think is a wonderful child on the Cornet, and I cheerfully and with pleasure can recommend them to the citizens of every town where they may appear. --- (Signed) "W.F. Cody / Buffalo Bill". Each of the dual full names at the conclusion measuring a huge 3.25" long, together about 1.75" tall and very prominent. De Moss and his troupe, known as the "Lyric Bards of America" toured around the world over the course of sixty years. Slight partial 1" fold separation, well handwritten by Cody in strong clear pencil on period wove paper. More importantly being on his rarely encountered "W.F. Cody" personal stationery.
