BULL, William II (1710-1791) Son of William Bull, who had also been lieutenant-governor of South Carolina. Studied in Europe under the famous Leyden physician, and, having completed his studies, returned to South Carolina. He was a member of the colonial council of South Carolina in 1751 and speaker of of the house of delegates in 1763, and was appointed lieutenant-governor of that colony in 1764. He continued in the latter office many years, and was commander-in-chief of the colony. IN 1782 he accompanied the British troops to England, and remained there until his death.
