Edward Hand (1744 - 1802) Continental general in the American army during the Revolutionary War who took part in the battles of Long Island, Princeton, White Plains and assisted George Washington at Yorktown. Eventually he became Washington's adjutant general, Society of Cincinnati founder and signer of the Pennsylvania constitution. Partly-printed D.S. "Edw:d Hand" 1p. oblong 12mo., Lebanon, Penn., June 7, 1795, an import duty document regarding one barrel of spirits. Negligible paper loss at upper left hand margin, else very good.
