Committee / New York City… August, 1905." Focuses on massacres of Jews in Russia in heart-rending terms and planned assistance for immigration to America. "The American Hebrew, enjoying the freedom of this great Republic secure in all the rights of citizenship has remained indifferent [mentions response and help Americans have given] but failed to assist the only movement that can save the Jew in Russia, the self-defence movement. Time for petitions is gone…Fear not that the Russian gov't will accuse you of aiding the Revolutionary movement. The Russians have already done so." (Light aging, but exc.+). Accompanied with a 4 page printed broadside; bold headlines "APPEAL ISSUED BY EUROPEAN COMMITTEE OF THE BUND…FEDERATION OF JEWISH WORKERS IN LITTAU, POLAND AND RUSSIA…THE BUND AND SELF-DEFENCE." Details the anti-Jewish disturbances then and the critical situation then happening; dated July, 1905. Also included: form for the "Subscription list for the Bund's self-defence fund against the Jewish massacres in Russia" with N.Y. address. Also a July, 1905 dated, single sheet 5 x 14 broadside: "Extract from the London Jewish Chronicle July 7, 1905" with further details of Russian massacres and that "Self-defence Committee" then being formed.
