Partly-printed Document Signed, “Lieut. Chas N. Kuhn 6th Regt of Md. Vols. Infty” 1p. folio, being a “Report of a Guard mounted at Harpers Ferry Va., on the 8th of January 1863, and relieved on the 9th of January 1863.” and lists members of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ‘Relief Guard’, by name and company. Also contains list of six (6) prisoners, all members of the 6th who were charged with desertion. VG. During the operations in the Shenandoah Valley and on the upper Potomac it was constantly on duty, skirmishing almost daily with the enemy. It was in the battle of Winchester, when Lee's whole army tried to capture Milroy's division, and fought with valor at the Wilderness, Spottsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor, Fisher's Hill, the Opequan, Cedar Creek, Wapping Heights, Petersburg and Sailor's creek, and was at Appomattox when Gen Lee surrendered.
