A great Anti-Lincoln letter, 4pp. 8vo., written in ink by a certain Mr. M. S. Lawyers, Lawyersville, Minn., Sept. 27, 1867, with original transmittal cover, in part: "…The interest you have taken in reading the Nurse and Spy of the late War is very pleasing to me and see that you take a correct view of Gen. McClellan, the greatest Gen. of the War and had he been properly sustained by Stanton Secretary of War and Prest. Lincoln he and his army of the Potomac would have taken Richmond when he had his army in line for battle within 10 miles of that place; but being outnumbered by the Enemy and calling for the reinforcement of the forces of Gen. McDowell, Stanton and Lincoln refused to let him have them - the 40,000 under McDowell added to his would have enabled him to have taken Richmond and Gen. Lee's Army and ended the war in '62 I believe. This would have saved millions and millions of debt and thousands & thousands of lives…". VG.
