Autograph Letter Signed, 2p. quarto, Cabinford, Virginia, March 26, 1861, with cover, it reads in part: “...Critcher spoke at the C.H. on yesterday...He says that the peace conference is a brilliant success and that the South has gained more than she asked...In these changing times it is hard to tel what is the best course to pursue jsut at this moment. I being to think that Virignia must eventually go out...The subject is entirely exhausted...he who will read attentively the proceedings of the convention which framed the Constitution will see the seeds of disolution all along the path...” VG.
