War-Date Confederate Prisoner of War Autograph Letter Signed, “David Kingsolver” 37th & 48th Virginia Infantry, who fought under Stonewall Jackson, taken prisoner at Spotsylvania Courth House and imprisoned at Point Lookout before being transferred to Elmira, 1p. octavo, “Elmira New York” September 26, 1864, addressed to Mrs. T.I. Furgerson, and reads “Your note is to hand and I was informed by Capt. Morgan Ast. Prov. Mar that clothing Grey color & inferior quality also tobacco will not be withheld from prisoners when sent to them by their friends. Therefore I apprehend no danger in getting the things, sent for in my note to you heretofore...Those two friends of yours received their clothing & c...” Fine.
