A great war-date Union officer's letter written on captured Confederate stationery by Capt. Horatio H. Hunt, Co. K, 64th NY. 2pp. folio, "near Petersburg, Va., June 24, 1864"concerning military events during the opening of the siege of Petersburg. Hunt enlisted in 1861 and fought throughout the war at the battles of Fair Oaks, where he was wounded, Antietam and Gettysburg. VG.
