Special Orders No. 55 ‘Extract’, 1p. small quarto, Head Quarters Post, Atlanta, Georgia, June 16, 1864, being an order from General Marcus Wright to Major Massengale, and reads in part: “ The following Post offices will have their offices open from six AM until seven PM daily and will require some one authorized to attend to their business to be at their offices at all hours of the day and night.” Followed by a list of three men and thier offices. VG.
