War-date Confederate partly-printed Document Signed, “Henry D. Beman, Capt.” in Command of Company E, 1p. folio, March 23, 1864, Sparata, Georgia, entitled “Certificate to be Given to a Soldier at the time of his Discharge” it reads in part: “...I CERTIFY, That the within named Sidney Sanders a private of Captain Henry D. Beman’s Company E of the Lt. Col. Linton Stephen’s Cav’y Battalion Ga. State Guard ...aged 19...was enlisted by Capt. Linton Stephens...on the fourth (4) day of August eighteen hundred and sixty three (3) to serve for Six months...” Additionaly lists payment of $109.60 for his service and a $51.04 bounty. Signed by Beman and Sanders at bottom. Fine.
