Columbia” 7th Indiana, 4p. octavo, on illustrated lettersheet, Pratt’s Point, Virignia, March 1, 1863, with nice cover with Union shield sticker, it reads in part: “...I am happy to inform you that I and the balance of your friends in this company are in good health, and comfortably situated. We live in log huts of our own construction covered with our shelter tents...this is a very rough muddy part of the country, but is healthy...Lem has no shoes at present, but has no duty to do until supplied. Our stay here will depend on the weather, we cannot move until the roads improve. Picket duty is about all we have to do...” VG..
