Provides the details of the 1854 treaty including the establishment of the reservation, signed in type by President Franklin Pierce. When white settlement began its speedy growth with the founding of Kansas Territory in 1854, the Native Americans were pushed out. The Missouri and Otoe were given a reservation in 1854 along the Big Blue River on the Kansas-Nebraska line.
