There is so many important issues we can only mention a few. [1/30/1864] full page engraving, "Emancipated Slaves, White and Colored" showing a Black man with a brand on his forehead. [3/5/1864] Front cover "The Escaped Refugees From Libby Prison." [3/19/1864] The entire front page is taken up with a great engraving captioned: "Brigadier General George A. Custer" showing him leading a charge on horseback, brandishing his sword. There is a related article on him on an inside page. [3/26/1864] 'Gen. Grant Receiving His Commission as Lt. Gen. from Pres.
