Autograph Letter Signed "M. D. Leggett," one page, on legal letterhead, 4to, Columbus, Ohio, September 13, 1890, to a Mr. Kennedy, n.p. The recipient must have been a former comrade as Leggett writes that "…I got Dana's Vicksburg letter of 1863, in which he walks through the Generals, for which I thank you." General Leggett was severely wounded at Vicksburg , yet recovered to become a division commander under Sherman in Georgia and the Carolinas. This letter is laid down on old collection board, browning to edges. Good condition.
