CDV with inscribed identification below the image and an E. & H. T. Anthony, New York backmark. Sedgewick appears here with a bandaged left hand. This portrait was undoubtedly taken late in 1862 when the general was recovering from three bullet wounds received at Antietam. Sedgewick, acting in the capacity of a corps commander, would be felled by a sniper during the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House on May 9, 1864. Clipped corners, light marginal stains. VG.
