RUSSELL Lillian (1861-1922) was an American actress and singer. She became one of the most famous actresses and singers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, known for her beauty and style, as well as for her voice and stage presence.The group consists of seven pieces to include; Signed Photo, 1904 of Russell in her role as Lady Teazle, 3-3/4” x 7-1/4,” on larger mount, signed on the mount, “To Cora, Yours Lady Teazle, Lillian Russell, Jan 2, 1905.” Unfortunately, in the date line, someone has incorrectly overwritten the “o” with a “2.” Image is sharp, mount has been punched for notebook. ... plus, Autograph Letter Signed, “Lillian Russell,”2pp., December 2, 1902, in part “I must beg your pardon ... The tea has been at my house. If you want a box for next Friday, let me know ...” ... plus, signature removed from letter, “Very Cordially Yours, Lillian Russell.” ... plus three Cabinet Card photographs, each showing the actress in role. ... plus, Color printed card, cabinet card size, again Russell in role.
