Silverprint Photograph, 6” x 8,” mounted to a larger card, 11” x 13-1/2.” the image shows a full standing Thomas Edison with his arm around fellow scientist Hudson Maxim. the mount carries facsimili signature of each. VG. Likely taken in 1915 when Thomas Edison was chairman to a newly formed Navy Advisory Board of Inventions. A member of his team was Hudson Maxim, an explosive inventor but more importantly he published an influential book titled “Defenseless America”, where he warned about the threat of war with a well-armed Germany and advocated a strong navy as the best defense.
