TRUMAN, Harry (1884 - 1972) 33rd President of the United States who led the country in the closing days of World War II and through the re-building of Europe under the Marshall Plan and the Korean War. Probably the best signed President Harry Truman signed photograph to appear on the market in some time. From the estate of Eric W. Bacharach, a Kansas City, Mo. businessman and friend of Harry Truman. This wonderful 8" x 10" photograph, c.1950's, pictures Truman with a group of businessmen holding a large pistol. Truman has inscribed the photograph to Bacharach in dark black ink "To Eric from dead shot T. No danger intended, Harry Truman". Truman is pointing the pistol in the direction of Bacharach. Truman then adds "Ray Niles is a good looker!". Ray Niles was another Kansas City businessman and acquaintance of Truman. The content of the photograph, along with a great inscription make this a rare piece indeed. The image has a crease at the far left edge, and a small bend at the extreme bottom right corner. There are a few old tape remnants on the verso from prior framing, overall fine. Would look great matted and framed
