Rare war-date Northern published CDV, entitled: "Colored Volunteer" showing a young Union recruit performing drill maneuvers while carrying a broom stick. Obviously, printed to show the distain some Northerners had in making soldiers out of the recently freed slaves. Rounded corners with a period pencil inscription reading: "from Gandma." Overall VG
