Authentic issue of the Daily National Intelligencer, Washington DC.,September 25, 1845, 4pp., disbound, VG. From an interior pages, “More Mormon Troubles,” provides a report of the burning of Mormon homes in an effort to drive the Mormons out of the county. In part, “ ..that on Thursday last the anti Mormons attacked a settlement known by the name of Morley’s Settlement a short distance norheast of Lima ... left twenty four or thirty houses burnt together with several barns ...” Today there is marker of the Settlement with its history.
