Unusual Manuscript entitled “Quantrell’s Band First -reunion in 1898 and the names of those who answered.” consisting of two hand stitched pages 8”x17-1/2”, listing fifty-four (54) names, and stating at bottom “ Reunions were held in miss Lizzie Wallace’s grove, 8607 Indpendence Road. These men attended the reunion. Many others never atteded.” In the second section. “Other names” there is a listing for William Anderson “Bloddy” Bill Anderson is reputed to have killed 53 Yankees and he himself was killed in 1864. Fine condition.Quantrill's Raiders was a loosely organized force of pro-Confederate Partisan rangers, "bushwhackers", who fought in the American Civil War under the leadership of William Clarke Quantrill. Jesse James, Frank James and Cole Younger were among his loyalists. The name "Quantrill's Raiders" seems to have been attached to them long after the war, when the veterans would hold reunions.
