Anti-Slavery Record, November 1836, 12 pp., 4-1/4” x 6-3/4”, disbound, fully reporting the “Facts in Regard tot he Working of the British Abolition Act.” The act abolished slavery throughout the British Empire, although as for slaves over the age of 6, the status was apprenticeship which was expired in 1840. The apprentices were plentyful ... example, Barbadoes 82,000; British Guiana 90,000; Mauritius 70,000 ....
