A good war-date Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. Henry H. Fulton, Co. E, 20th Ohio Vols. [shot by Rebel guerrillas near Pine Level, N. C.,4/10/65; DOW Raleigh, 4/12/65], Vicksburg, Miss., Dec. 23, [1863], in part: "…day after tomorrow will be Christmas but we will hardly know it unless it be by the firing of artillery…I read the proceedings of the consolation meeting in Cincinnati at which McClellan was recommended for president. I hope he will get the nomination. He is a favorite in the army but I think the Democrats of Ohio & injured by running Vallandingham…I saw a list of killed and wounded of the 76th in the Commercial but saw no Homer boys names…Henry."
