CDV Twice Signed, “Mary Custis Lee”, (Robert E. Lee’s wife) first on the front mount below the image somewhat light from ink skipping. Then on the back is an endorsement in her hand, “For my dear little ???? Davidson from her friend Mary Custis Lee.” The CDV is chest up vignett with hand tinted roses, likely tinted by Lee herself. Backmarked Stonewall Art Gallery, Boude & Miley, Lexington, Va. Image is a bit dirty, still scarce item.
