Confederate sheet music “THE SOUTHERN CROSS” 4pp. folio, 1863, by George Dunn, Richmond, Virginia, Fine condition. his was a very famous Confederate song with words by St. George Tucker, who patterned the song after “The Star-Spangled Banner” and was an attempt to adapt it to the Confederate cause. The sheet music is two pages in length and is complete. At the bottom is written, “Entered According to Act of Congress in the Year 1863, by George Dunn in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of the Confederate States of America for the Eastern District of Virginia” and “Richmond, Va., Published by Geo. Dunn & Compy. PO Box 991 Columbia, S.C. Julian A. Selby”.
