Confederate Autograph Letter Signed, “A. Hunter Surg in Charge” 1pp. quarto, Office Surgeon in Chg. Hospitals, Cassville, Georgia, September 7, 1863, and reads in part: “There are empty houses here sufficient for another (a third) hospital of 200 or 250 patients. We have only to take posession of them and go to work. I find it very difficult to transact business with the Kingston officials. It seems that every obsticle is thrown in the way which their ingenuity can divise...I am obliged to have the rations or let the sick men starve...” Very good condition.
