War-date Confederate soldier’s Autograph Letter Signed by Lt. John L. Kunzie, Co. B, 4th Alabama Regiment, 2pp. folio, on portion of a muster roll, Gordonsville, Virginia, May 1, 1864, and reads in part: “...last Friday General Longstreet’s Corps was reviewed by Uncle Bob Lee near Gordonsvill. It’s troops was proud to see him & they cheered him loud & long. Great many ladies present....It is said that Longstreet is here to march Generals Burnsides & Butler in the peninsula...The whole command is in fine health & excellent spirits & ready for the coming struggle perfectly confident of whipping Grant & that badly...They say that he has no idea of fighting Lee. Such is not my belief...” Fine condition.
