Lot of three color maps from the “Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, 1861-1865.” Each measures 29”x18”, vertical fold from being in bound volume. (Illustration accompanying this lot is pieced together from all maps to better highlight elements). Map 1 depicts 7 panels showing Fort Henry and Fort Donelson with outworks, roads, water batteries, rifle pits, enemy entrenchments and positions during various sieges. Map 2: Contains 10 inset maps of rebel fortifications at Island No. 10 and at Centreville; Battle at Leetown; Conrad’s route from Bentonville, Ark.; route from Keetsville to Fayetteville, Ark.; Battle of Pea Ridge, Ark., (3 views); Manassas Junction and the Battlefield at Shiloh. Map 3: Battlefield of Carnifix Ferry (Gauley River, Western Va.); sketch of the country at Somerset Ky.; and military reconnaissance from the Dept. of Western Virginia, Gauley Bridge. Maps in good shape and very displayable.
