BANKS, Nathaniel P. (1816-1894) was an American politician from Massachusetts and a Union general during the Civil War. HAMILTON, Charles Smith (1822-1891) was a career United States Army officer who fought with distinction during the Mexican-American War. He also served as a Union Army general during the early part of the American Civil War. War-date Document Signed by both General Banks and General Hamilton, 1pp. quarto, January 22, 1862, being a pass for JOhn D. Wilson, 29th Pennsylvania, to proceed to Philadelphia. Approved by Colonel Charles Parham. Fine conditin.
