Rare 1844 presidential campaign stationery with illustrated portraits of Henry Clay and Frederick Frelinghuysen, and bearing the motto: "Huzza! Huzza! the Country's risen'", published by Narine & Co., Wall Street, New York City, 1p. 4to., New York, Oct. 1, 1844, reading, in part: "…I shall ship most of the dry goods tomorrow with oil de shoes, caps etc…lead has gone up 1/2 cent from spring prices…good cut nails cannot be bought less than 4 1/2 in any quantity…if I don't come in the morn I will go from Utica in stage…A. Rlan." With integral address panel postmarked "New-York, Oct. 1" and addressed: "Messrs. S. Carr & Sons, Vernon, Oneida Co., N. Y., single." Minor soiling, else VG
