A rare war-date Confederate "State of Alabama" "double barrel shot[gun]" receipt, pre-printed, 1p. oblong 12mo., Talladega Co., Ala., March 28, 1862, in which, Isaac Lawler is being receipted for purchasing a shotgun from the state for seventeen dollars. Confederate Quartermaster Col. W. R. Pickett received the money at Montgomery. Signed and made official by B. Eason as agent. Near fine.
