War-date Union Document Signed by John Armistead Chappelear (1835-1916) 6th Virginia Cavalry, 1pp. octavo, Head Quarters Second Cavalry Division, Middle Military Division, Office Provost Marshal, April 19, 1865, and states “I, J.A. Chappelear of Co. A 6th Va. Cav. C.S. Army, do hereby give this my parole of Honor, that I will not take up arms against the United States Goverment until I am regularly exchanged...” Also signed by Francis Julius LeSage, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry. Fine condition.
