Nelson, 1pp. octavo, Camp Morton, December 1, 1863, “Please pay the above draft it is for clothing sent me. The extreme cold weather here compelled me to order them...” Fine condition...plus; ALS, L.T. Thompson, 6pp. octavo, September 4, 1864, Claiborne, Louisiana, and reads in part: “...Our beloved country is bleeding. I long to hear the glad tidings of peace throughout our land once more, when we all will be permitted to embrace our friends and relations in peace again and then convince the world at large of the correctness of our cause. Thompson is in the war. Him & John are in Churchill’s Division. To hear of my brother & brother in-laws death was sad tidings. When you write again, write me all about the death of brother. Direct to Capt. R. Crow, 12th La. Regt. & he will forward to me...” Fine condition.
