Cassell deceased, late private of Capt. Lawson's Co. 'K' 50th Reg't Va. Vols…for the services of said deceased, from January 1st 1863, the date to which he was last paid, to May 5th, 1863, the date of his death…" Total was $123.53. Docketed as being received on verso by Catherine Cassell. VG. Carter F. Cassell is listed as being wounded on May 3, 1863 at Chancellorsville and dying in the field on May 5, 1863.
