Unusual Confederate relic, being a $1 State of Alabama note, issued January 1, 1863, in very good condition. With letter of provenance dated 1952 from Howard Wright, a special agent in charge of the Bureau of Investigation and son of General Marcus Wright, tracing the note back to an incident after the battle of Missionary Ridge, where a portion of the wagon-train of General Wright's brigade was captured. One of the items captured in the incident was General Wright's uniform and inside a pocket of the uniform was this Alabama note. An excellent captured Confederate relic.
