Rare field printed Confederate document, partly-printed, 1p. oblong 8vo., printed especially for ALLEN'S CAVALRY DIVISION, showing the effective strength of Col. (acting Brigadier General) James Hagan's brigade. Matthews Bluff, S. C., Jan. 14, 1865, plus the number of horses, guns including "men's pistols." Boldly signed by JAMES HAGAN, as colonel commanding. Hagan was wounded twice during his command of the 3rd Alabama Cavalry. He was assigned to General Joseph Wheeler's command as it fought against William T. Sherman as he drove his army through the Carolinas. Expected wear, else VG.
