A nicely carved well-made wooden pine spoon (showing heavy use), measuring 8 1/4" x 2" with Civil War-date inscription done by either a Union or Confederate relic hunter in 1864 who scribed on the face, "Spoon found in Camp Rich Hollow, December 1864, Wharton Division, Early's Corps." The back is inscribed, "C. S. A." From the estate of a Confederate veteran from the Shenandoah Valley.
