War-date Union home front letter, 3pp. 8vo., written by John Walker, the uncle of Pvt. Marcus Walker, Co. E, 141st New York Vols., reading in part: "- I did not know what had become of you - Willis and James was enlisted and have gone to the WAR. They went in Co. K, Sixth Wisconsin Vols. - I hope they will close up this war this spring but we don't know how for politics will take it - it seems to me that we have lost enough good Boys already - there was a a great many enlisted here this winter and still enlisting and will till the 1st of Feb. - if you get with the 6th Wisconsin you will find Willis and Oliver's man. I want you to to tell me all the news you can when you write - John Walker." VG.
