WRIGHT Marcus Joseph (June 5, 1831 - December 27, 1922) was a lawyer, author, and a Confederate general in the American Civil War. Autograph Letter Signed "Marcus J. Wright: 1 page on official "War Department, War Records Office, Washington" February 1, 1898. In large part, "I sent you ... a letter from Gen. Fitz John Porter .. of which follows and extract. 'I hoped you received a letter in which I spoke of Gen. Longstreet and myself facing each other at 2nd Bull Run and the reasons of our not attacking each other, and the possible results if either had done so ..." Comes with a 8" x 10" modern copy photo.
