Full bust, head to left, oval, raised copper plate. Beneath the portrait is a vignette of Franklin flying his kite. ... plus, Hand colored, "Benjamin Franklin, L.L.D. F.R.S.", 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" to 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" larger sheet, D. Martin Pinx, G. Gobrecht sculp. Seated at his desk, reading, with left hand propping up his head, studious. ...plus, Hand colored, "Franklin" 6" x 9", Steel engraving of Franklin. with smaller illustration under portrait showing the signing of The Declaration of Independence. Smaller illustration above portrait shows two allegorical females adding Franklin's name to a plaque bearing the names of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson. Engraved by J.A. Duplessis and W.J. Edwards in 1856.
